hwlf
The hwlf is a community and multi-arts project. It is an initiative of Adelaide Hills artists.
The HWLF'25: lantern workshop program and festival will the 10th starting in Hahndorf in 2015.
In the hwlf practice all lanterns are made from local responsibly curated, harvested willow withies, paper tape and candles only ( no LEDS).
The festival is run by a non-profit community group HWLF.Inc .
hwlf follows a re-emergence of community based arts festivals, including
community arts workshops, lantern technique, parades, music and fire as
per the work of Welfare State in Cumbria, UK and elsewhere and Bread
and Puppet in Vermont, USA in the 80s and 90s.
